The Hive Gallery’s show for the month of October is “Haunted House.” This is the piece I painted for the show, titled “Coming Home.” Ah, but what is this girl coming home to? I imagine it’s her ancestral home, a home she may have left happily for adventure or unhappily as an escape. Is she coming home to claim an inheritance or is it her soul that has come home, greeted by the ones she left behind? The birdcage door is open. She is free. Or is she?
